Kit-Chac

A Thri-Kreen Warrior of the Open Hand Monk and the brother of Derfel. Four-armed, chitinous, requiring no sleep. Found Derfel in the wastes and taught him to hunt, an act of adoption across species lines that on Athas is not a small thing.
Kit-Chac refers to himself simply as Kreen, the Thri-Kreen word for "People." From his perspective this is straightforward: Kreen are people, and he is Kreen. The interesting implication, which he holds without apparent irony, is that the rest of the party are not Kreen and therefore occupy a different category. The party largely view Kit-Chac as the monster in the group. Kit-Chac returns the favour.
Derfel is deeply racist and harbours considerable suspicion of Thri-Kreen. Kit-Chac is Thri-Kreen. Derfel does not appear to have noticed, or has noticed and filed it somewhere he does not look. He thinks of Kit-Chac purely as his brother. Whether Kit-Chac has noticed this contradiction, and what he makes of it, is left to the player and the table.

Relationships
- Derfel: brother; rescued him from the wastes and taught him to hunt; is apparently exempt from Derfel's views on Thri-Kreen, and possibly also from being non-Kreen
Notable moments
- Episode 11: Picked the routes through the ruined slums and scouted the crossing alongside Derfel. Donated two water skins to Leviath's refugees. In the sand elemental fight he tried his new Stunning Strike (the creature was immune to stunned) and a Flurry of Blows with Tavern Brawler to topple it (earth instability meant it could not be knocked prone), and kept hammering away with what damage would land. Stood over the medium elemental after the split until he was sure it had dispersed.
